CFS Conference event

A New Supervisory Architecture for Europe's Banking System

CFS Research Conference

The Center for Financial Studies at Goethe University in Frankfurt, the European Banking Center at Tilburg University and the International Monetary Fund are organizing a Symposium on

A New Supervisory Architecture for Europe’s Banking System.

While the focus is currently on crisis resolution, a longer-term perspective includes reforms of the supervisory structure for large Pan-European banks, including its link with deposit insurance schemes.

Different models have been suggested ranging from strengthening the coordination between national supervisors to establishing a European financial supervisory authority.  What reform path and institutional arrangements does theoretical and empirical research recommend?  What is the view of policy makers?

The conference will provide a forum for discussing the future supervisory structure for Europe and the steps towards this new structure

The official language is English.
